TTKVSR01
The Trolltek™ Programmable Voltage Sensitive (PVSR) is the ideal addition to many electrical installations and is packed with features not often seen in other basic VSRs.
A VSR is essentially a switch that can be triggered by the input voltage of a electrical circuit. It's ideal for turning devices on and off based on the supply batteries voltage. Most VSRs on the market are supplied pre-programmed with set trigger conditions that are not adjustable. VSRs are commonly used for dual battery set ups.
The Trolltek™ Programmable Voltage Sensitive Relay (PVSR) is different in that it allows the user to configure their own settings for some vital parameters completely changing and improving the functionality of the VSR.
Users have the ability to quickly and easily set the following parameters directly from the PVSR using the faceplate buttons and LCD screen, there's no need for external device connection to set up and configure.

A standard VSR is usually supplied programmed to engage at ~13.2V and disengage at ~12.8V. The idea is that when the connected engine with alternator is started, the voltage of the primary battery increases above 13.2V, the VSR activates to combine the primary and secondary battery.
The issue comes when the downstream device being linked is a high current draw device that causes the primary battery voltage to dip.
For example, using a DCDC charger in your boat to charge a Lithium trolling motor battery. The DCDC charger can draw 30A when running which is great if your outboard can deliver 30A but many outboards will struggle to provide this output, especially when the engine is at idle. Using a standard VSR for such applications will see the VSR 'door belling' or clicking 'on and off' in short succession essentially starting and stopping the DCDC charger and making and breaking the electrical connection as the voltage of the battery cycles down and up. On ordinary VSRs this cycling can happen every 15 seconds which causes the VSR to heat at it's electrical contacts and quickly fail.
Using the Trolltek™ Programmable VSR gives the user more options on how best to configure their system. For example, the disconnect voltage be adjusted down to 12.3V. A lead acid battery is still at ~70% state of charge at 12.3V so this is a acceptable voltage to disconnect at. Additionally, the user can further set a time delay for the disconnect event. For example, when the battery voltage drops to 12.3V, run the charger for a further 5mins before disconnecting it. This wider operating band makes a massive improvement to the overall operation and reduces the cycling of the relay. It also allows for periods of idling the engine and reduced alternator production without the potential of accidentally flattening the primary battery.
Trolltek™ PVSRs are fully potted and housed inside a enclosure ensuring they last in the harsh marine environment.
The Trolltek™ PVSR is suitable for switching continuous loads up to 150A which provides ample capacity for most uses. Intermitted loads up to 250A are also within the units capability allowing for jump starting between batteries in emergency situations.
The PVSR includes some built in protection systems.
Reverse current protection - the relay will return to a 'OPEN' state and separate the connections if the current flowing through the PVSR is below 3amps or the current flow is reversed.
Suitable for use with Lithium batteries and most alternators including smart and Euro 6 alternators.
LCD alternates display between voltage and charging current when operational giving the user useful information at a glance.
Manual override function via push button closes the relay for 60 second duration allowing for abnormal operating scenarios.
Power saver built in turns off LCD when not in use.
Storage Mode function allows user to manually turn PVSR off when in long term storage.
